Curious as to why you guys have made the anti-rotation tabs a separate piece unlike your previous generation rails that had them integrated with the rail. What gives?
The torque plate serves multiple functions (it is made from 4140 steel)
1 when tightening the hand guard on to the barrel nut it limits the amount the hand guard can be compressed to the nut .
2 the torque plate engages the upper to keep the handguard from rotating .
3 the torque plate hooks to the back of the barrel nut keeping the hand guard from sliding off the front of the nut .
4 the torque plate also helps align the hand guard during installation . There is no longer a need to time out the barrel nut.
Hope this answers your question.

These look great. The new barrel nut fixes everything I didn’t like about the older MI handguards. I will definitely be giving one of these a try.
Very nice! Does this fit under it and will the block cover the cross pin holes from a fsb?

Yes our gas blocks will fit with no problems and they will cover the pins from the FSB
Thanks

Got one for a DPMS G2 Recon?
Sorry these are for 5.56 guns only at this time

Oh yeah:cool:
Leave it to Midwest Industries to bring something new to the game. That is why I like these guys and their products.
Looks like a great refinement to the design.
Should we be expecting something for a DPMS “high” profile soon? I like my SSK but I like the barrel nut and upper interface on this much more.
Generic Question: Internal ‘Diameter’?
Specific question: Will a Vltor/Daniel Defense clamp on style gas block fit under it assuming a .750 gas block diameter/journal?
Very nice guys!!! Although my SSK 15" has been awesome and has given me zero issues (two years running now), I’m glad to see you guys using a proprietary barrel nut instead of standard AR nut. I’m assuming these will be available in FDE like the rest of your rails? Thank you again for offering Military discounts and supporting the armed forces!
These look like the rest of the MI rail line up in ID (1.3") if I’m not mistaken…and should fit over any LP GB. I would love to see MI’s rails make something 1.8" inside diameter for suppressor compatibility.
I would buy this. Looks like a winner. Nice job MI.
Nicely done. Now, make the handguards out of carbon fiber or Magpul plastic and you’ll get my money
Huge improvement, and the previous rail was almost perfect as is.
I’ll almost certainly be buying one of these at some point, especially if they are released for the M&P10.
The I.D is 1.3 like the other models. We do have some other things in the works for the suppressor applications.
thanks
