Midwest Industries Combat Rail Handguard

Midwest Industries is always innovating and improving weapons to make them a better tool for the tasks we use them for.

While we have always been conscious of weight, we have also always been very careful to never compromise strength or features.

We know our handguards are used on rifles that very well may go into harms way. We take this responsibly very seriously and want our customers to have complete faith in their MI products.

That being said we are proud to bring you the first in a new line of AR-15/ M16 products.

The Midwest Industries Combat Rail Handguards.

These new handguards use our patented 4140 heat treated torque plate and barrel nut and are made of 6061 aluminum with a type 3 hard coat anodized finish.

This handguard has a MIL-Standard 1913 Picatinny top rail, two anti-rotation QD sling sockets, and seven sides of M-LOK slots.

With the new installation hardware these handguards are one of the easiest to install and will not pull off or rotate even under extreme conditions.

These handguards install without requiring the heating of any parts, timing of the barrel nut, shims or special fasteners, and without the use of any Loctite or other adhesives.

This new handguard will be available in seven popular lengths, all with an inside diameter of 1.3” and an outside diameter of 1.5”.
Actual lengths and weights are listed below. All weights include the steel barrel nut and all hardware.

A titanium barrel nut and hardware are available for those looking to cut weight.

One five slot polymer M-LOK rail section is included with each handguard.

Like everything we make this handguard is 100% made in the USA and is backed by our Lifetime Warranty.

7" handguard weighs 6.8 oz

9.25” handguard weighs 8 oz

9.5” handguard weighs 8.3 oz

10.5” handguard weighs 8.7 oz

12.625” handguard weighs 9.9 oz

14” handguard weighs 10.8 oz

15” handguard weighs 11.4 oz

I know your gear goes into harms way on a daily basis, because myself and many other LE armorers install Midwest Industries equipment on Officers weapons on a regular basis. Equipment that is affordable to a guy with 3 exwives is important.

This is the best rail design I’ve seen yet from you guys. Great work!

Looks great! It should to ventilate very well with the top round holes.

Cops are so dumb, it only took me 2 ex-wives to figure it out. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice job on the rail MI.

Very nice. I’ll grab one for next build I’ve got in the works.

Well played good sir, well played.

Love the MI G3 leightweight rail on my most recent build, but these look like a very strong candidate for my next upper build. Awesome stuff.

CAN you run a 15" rail on 16" gun without problem…or should you drop down to a 14"?
Their video said 14"…wanting one of these for my LMT Defender.

I like what I see here… if I hadn’t been bitten by the Clone bug for my next few builds I could see one of these going on, and if they were Dolos compatible they’d be almost perfect for a “quick-change CQB-to-SPR pistol” idea I’m penciling out.

Nice one, MI! Looking forward to doing business with you guys again someday–that’s a ‘When,’ not an ‘If.’

I’m still living in 1913, but thats nice design work MI

Yes you can run a 15 inch on a 16 inch barrel . We do many builds like that for people.

You will be happy soon!

So if 15" handguard is good for a 16" barrel, does the 14" handguard work for a 14.5" barrel ?

These M Lok handguard seem on point to what most of us are looking for with a 7 sided M Lok handguard, without the need for timing and shims.

Yes, the 14.0’’ handguard works great on a 14.5" barrel.

I love the quads. I bought one MI and one not for way more. I like my MI better. I need this new rail. The end.

We have a new quad coming .

I’ve had your T1 handguards on my AKs for years but hadn’t ever used one of your rails on my ARs. This new handguard has me itching to change that.

How tight is the fit between the anti rotation extensions? Is it actually touching the upper on bother sides or is there a little gap? I’d be fine if it had to be almost pressed over the upper to completely eliminate any slop but that would make a lot of dandies cry so I understand if it’s not super tight.

Nice work, looks almost like you could bid for a military contract with this one

Added: Will more lengths(10, 12, 14) be coming in the future? Will the front QDs sling sockets from the Gen 3 line migrate to the Combat Rails at any point?

Awesome work as always! These rails are the ticket with features, price and ease of install. You guys should seriously look into a bolt chassis, lightweight–do it!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

These look real good. The barrel nut looks like a solid improvement. Might have to throw one on my OEM2 sitting in the safe.
