This may seem trivial, but am curious if there are black plated gas tubes for mid length ARs. YHM has them in carbine and rifle lengths.
Why would you need a black one? I guess you could coat one w/ Alumahyde or a similar coating.
There are several brands of hi-temp spray paint that would probably do the job.
Do you want the gas tube to cool or not?
