I see DD, Colt, and BCM are often mentioned as a rifle to get. Anyone know of a good Mid Length to look at. Colt doesn’t make any and some companies have their rifles decked out in rails. That’s an added expense I don’t need or want.

Daniel Defense makes several midlength configurations, including stripped barrels. However, they no longer sell the XVM variant.
Other than spending the cash on a KAC CHF rig, there are several solid DD middy configurations. Centurion Arms or Noveske would be my choice for a build if you’re not planning on buying a complete upper/rifle.
In fact, if you are just looking for a CHF barrel this would be hard to pass up…fyi.

Thanks for the help everyone. I was thinking of getting the BCM upper that was shown in the link. I want to put the Magpul OD furniture on it. Nothing fancy, just a way to put a flashlight on it. I want to keep this light and handy.
Pretty much what I plan to do when I have enough money to buy an AR. For the time being I have to live vicariously through y’alls carbines and classes and other cool stuff.
