What is the benefit of billet??

choosing a lower almost comes down to whos name or style of rollmark you want on your rifle.
personally, i think the whole “billet” thing is a little over rated, beyond not needing a raw forging to start with. i don’t really see a functional benefit. billet does look nice, though. i would like to see some billet stainless steel uppers and lowers made, that would be a neat way to advance the AR platform, i think
