It’s beautiful.
Thanks for the nice comments guys!
I’m still building the “New Version” MEUSOC replica but I don’t get many requests for it. Send me an email if you are interested.

Dave, those are some absolutely stunning 1911’s. You are one of the small group of 1911 gunsmiths who can make a built for serious use 1911 and it still looks awesome.
What about the ambi safety Kimber used on the warrior/desert warrior pistols, did they buy those from Kings or do they make them in house?
Thanks again guys!
That ambi was/is made by Kimber and is still available from them.
“I’m still building the “New Version” MEUSOC replica but I don’t get many requests for it.”
That is strange and unfortunate, as the “New Version” is actually a more functional pistol.
wish I could see the photos, MEU(SOC) clones are my favorite 1911 pron
Photos are available at Dave’s website, which is in his sig.
Ive always been more of a fan of function over form on 1911’s, beutifully executed sir.
Thanks again guys! I fixed the links to the photos so they should be visible again.
thanks Dave, those look fantastic.
any chance of adding some photos of the “new version” to make this an all-round MEU(SOC) replica “done right” thread?
I’ve got a New Version in the works now. I’ll post photos when it’s done.
starting to gather specs for a pre-MEUSOC build that I am calling ICQB Tribute pistol.
Kimber Classic Custom series 1 is the base gun.
Dawson rail, Novak rear sites, GI guide rod, Kimber ambi safety, Ed Brown or STI grip safety, flat MSH w/ texturing and lanyard loop (Kimber)
I know the original Surefire light is no longer available and there was some lettering and special serial numbers, but this is not going to be an exact copy.
Was there ever any spec’s or solid information on this?
IM me if you wish
Nice work Sir,
It FAR surpasses the bling others go for in an attempt for praise.
WANT!
Nice MEUSOC. here is mine I finished last year. It still needs a new rear sight and a lanyard mainspring housing, but pretty much finished. All internals were swapped out for either Ed Brown or Wilson machined parts. It started life as a basic used $600 SA Mil Spec. Shoots great, so far very reliable, and very accurate. I’ll probably never get rid of this one and pass it on in the family.

Great pistol!
It has become a classic pistol. I always wanted to have one built on my Large Colt Series 70 logo Colt with custom grips by Jim at Nutmeg Sports…but so far only have the scrimshawed grips and pistol…haven’t had the time or money to get a place in line.
Great detail work. Looks like it rolled off the line at Quantico!
I have a springfield armory GI 1911. How much would you charge me to turn it into the MEU you have posted here? I especialy need the ambi safety as I am a left handed shooter.
Thanks
John
He no longer makes the old MEU(SOC). He still offers the new version though.
Wow! Great work!
