Internet shooters are a different breed. I’ve seen the Flavor go from LMT to Noveske to BCM to Allah alone knows what else. Big hooraw in cyber-shooting a while back was whether your barrel was parkerized under the sight base. People actually sat around looking at their precious rifles and worried about that! That’s apparently no longer an obsession but I’m sure something else is now.
Internet cyclists are the same way. If you don’t have a $6000 Cervelo, you might as well have a Huffy with training wheels.
Same story on internet guitarists. They will actually argue over whether a video shows Stevie Ray playing with .013 gauge strings or .014 strings at Montreaux. As if anyone could tell from a video! SRV is dead so you’d need a micrometer. And what difference could it possibly make anyway, to anybody but Stevie?
The real-world shooters, riders and players find something affordable that works, and shoot, ride and play their butts off. And they don’t worry about the flavor of the month, and what the consensus of the moment is in internet-land.
I really like how the thread was locked because the guy wanted to talk about a brand that isn’t popular here…
$500 for a Bushmaster, if you’re starting out and just want something for the range, is a good deal especially if it comes with a few magazine or other goodies.
I would probably not buy a Bushmaster… I like a little better quality than that, not that I need it. It seems hard for some to realize that not everyone is going to put 10.000 rounds per year through their rifle, and that they just want something to have fun with at the range… I didn’t know that you had to depend on your rifle to save your life to be welcome to talk about it here…
… there’s a reason this board has the reputation for being the hub for die hard AR snobs… It’s almost like a game to see who can most rapidly and severely put down and berate other members.
I would suggest that the two of you research and read about the culture here on this site. The reason this site was founded was to get away from all of the bullshit and “just as good as.” It is intended for serious shooters and thick skin is needed.
Apparently you have become an expert in your whole month of being a member here. Many personnel on this site train with their AR’s, shoot them alot and consider them their go to guns whether it be for home defense, hiking, camping, etc…
Some of us shoot thousands of rounds per year. So your little “internet” assertion is nothing more than a stupid troll move. Thin ice is forming in your vicinity. I suggest you tread with care.
