Additional Info
This configuration runs very well. It’s seen approx. 8-900 rounds of use.
Both suppressed and unsuppressed. Bolt locks back suppressed and unsuppressed and with three different types of ammo I’ve put through it. IMI M193(primary load for this carbine), PPU 75gr Match, PMC Bronze.

I have two Colt uppers(Colt A2 w/M4 feedramps) that I run on the same Colt lower(6920) all of which I assembled from all Colt parts. Ambient air temps have ranged from the 17F to 115F+, generally low humidity typical of the Chihuahuan desert. I use BF CLP and detail clean about every 500 rounds or so. I have had two feed failures, both were magazine related and the mag is now crushed and gone, and so is the feed issue…

The difference between the 2 is night and day. It cycles much, much smoother.

Edit: I’ve run Brown Bear, Silver Bear, Federal .223 100 round value from Wally World, AE 5.56 XM193, Federal XM223SP. All have run flawless.

I tried a buddies Spikes T2 which is in between H and H2 and had some short stroking issues with lower pressured ammo. If S ever HTF, I’d probably swap in a carbine buffer just to be on the safe side.

Because no matter how silly some people think all this tinkering is, others are going to go on and on and on about it. Might was well have a repository of information for those that want to ask “I have a barrel xyz and I want to use abc spring/buffer, will it work?” Now they can come here, find others that use their proposed setup, and figure out if there are others making it work.

To that end, I realized that there was information missing from the initial survey, and that is ammo types. If I want to shoot Brown Bear and your setup only works with XM913, I need to know that.

Since I bought this rifle in the spring of 2011, I have been going through a lot of ‘hand me down’ surplus boxed ammo and ‘gun show ammo.’ Most is ‘factory new,’ some ‘once fired brass’ reloads. Rounds that were clearly marked as to what they were included 55gr FMJ in both 5.56 and .223, 62gr penetrator (no green tip) and NATO marked SS109 (green tip), 55gr and 64gr JSP .223. Brands known for certain include Norinco, PMC, AE, Federal, Fiocchi, Winchester, and Hornady. Others have been individual companies that do their own factory loading and reloading in unbranded packaging. (aka ‘gun show ammo’) All have functioned perfectly fine in the LE6920, save for 3-4 rounds of ‘once fired brass’ rounds that did not want to seat in the chamber. All have been brass cartridges, I have not tried any steel cased ammo.
