I’m a long time lurker and finally decided to register and post about my first build. I’ve got all of my parts together except for the lower receiver that is still at the fun shop for another 8 days thanks Maryland :rolleyes: I will probably assemble the upper later this week when I get some free time. On to the specs and pics.

I did a lot of reading here and at TOS and put this build together. It is everything that I want in a build and spared no expense for what I wanted. The only thing left is an optic and I am leaning heavily towards an Aimpoint H1 and Larue tall mount. Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. I’m going to be assembling the upper after I get off of work tomorrow. I should have a few updated pictures soon after.
I assembled my upper last night. I was very surprised at how easy everything went together and the fit of all the pieces was excellent! I am now a believer that if you get good quality components of an AR, anyone can one of these suckers with the right tools. Now I just cant wait till Tuesday when I pick up the that sexy ass lower.
For being my first time assembling a lower, it all went together easier than I thought it would be. Again I guess having quality parts makes it all go smoother.
My first impression after handing the weapon was “Damn this thing is solid” There is absolutely no play between the upper and lower, and the UBR is rock solid. I need to get this on a good scale and weigh it, because it feels a lot heavier than my basic CAR. Even with the extra heft it is very balanced, I think the 12" rail and UBR balance each other very well. I will give this AR a good workout this Saturday at the range.
I just got in my H1 as well, but waiting on a the Larue tall QD mount is killing me…
The first range session with this rifle was great, up until the range nazi decided to close early because he wanted to go home. I got to put about 80 rds of 55g .223 down the pipe before we had to pack it in. Everything shot flawlessly, the irons zeroed quickly, and I was even very surprised at how soft shooting it was. After shooting back to back with my basic CAR and Alberto’s BCM/Spikes mid-length, everyone agreed that this new rifle was the softest shooting of the three AR’s. I definitely need to spend some more quality time with the rifle and then get the H1 zeroed in as the Larue mount just recently came in. I also put an extra TLR-1 at the 12:00 position in front of the FSB.
