Nice rifle. Why did you decide to go with a POF lower vs. a Mega billet?

You definitely spent some $$$ on that one. Nice choice of parts for the most part and yes, Marvin’s work is exemplary. Really liking the burnt bronze as well.

I assume this is a competition rifle?

Gorgeous rifle! How’s it shoot?

IMO the POF is a million times sexier.

A lower is a lower most of the time as long as it’s in spec. Why get a mega over a POF or likewise… because it’s all personal pref.

It’s not like your getting better performance either way. A billet lower is a billet lower if it’s in spec like said. It’s not like your getting any more bang for your buck etc. The POF is generally more expensive, but for some, the trigger guard is more suitable (myself included).

Thanks for the compliments. I already had the POF lower sitting around so I went with that. Plus the Mega GTR-3H that I was eyeing up has been “out of stock” for some time.

I just got it assembled so I haven’t made it out to the range yet, but hopefully soon.

I hear ya, I waited almost a year to get my Mega Mono upper and billet lower. Actually; I had the upper for 3 months before the lower came in, it was perched on top of an S&W 15 lower for a while and I couldn’t wait to change it. The rifle changed configuration four times before I was finished.

I’m really diggin the the color of your build. Good job! Let us know how it shoots.

That is one of the best looking rifles I have ever seen. Well done

i agree love that design i dont have any POF tho but i bought a bunch of 80% lowers with that design, or i guess its more like the first gen. POF, which i am currently building into complete guns atm.

id love to get my hands on some of that Burnt Bronze color , but im in europe and its impossible to find here and no companies will ship outside the US…

it would look good on my VIS build … havent decided on stock and flashhiders but optics will be an eotech 553 and iron sights will be Troy battlesights

Not to derail the OP’s post, but Cerakote ships worldwide.

unfortunately no … i tried ordering last week and when filling in the order you can only choose US and Canada so i called them and they said no … they wont ship chemicals outside us for some reason

BTW OP what magrelease is that? that checkered button looks sweet

Umm, WOW! Talk about sexy. I think you just motivated me to re-do my LMT. I need to give those guys a call and get a quote for the cerakote…that thing is darn beautiful!

Very Very nice build OP.

Very very nice

That is one of the best looking guns I have ever seen. Don’t know much about that upper, how do you change the barrel or anything like that?

you use the most crazy barrelnut key i have ever seen hehe

Nice build.

Thinking about doing a monolithic 14.5 also, but was wondering how you handled the barrel installation with the pinned flash hider… Having built a monolithic maten - the only process that I can see working would be:

  • Install barrel
  • Install Gas block & tube
  • Install and Pin flash hider / comp

I don’t think there is any other way to do this due to the gas block impeding the use of the specialized wrench…right? Conversely, once the hider/comp becomes pinned it becomes impossible to remove the barrel without first removing the hider…right?

Yes, you are exactly correct.

Appreciate it… Didn’t know if you had some trick up your sleeve. And I didn’t mention, that is a fantastic looking (and I’m sure shooting) build.
