As I recently fell for the iphone4 (with its great apps like the one by Knights Armament), I would like to know if its true that the Mechanix gloves work with the capacitive display, as I read in a iphone forum. Besides, whats your cold season solution when using the iphone outdoors? Do you really pull off gloves every time you take a call?

I don’t have any mechanix gloves yet, but with most thin leather gloves I can use the touch screen pretty reliably. As far as cold weather goes, there were times last winter (I’m in Alaska) that bare fingers wouldn’t work on the screen.
The best winter solution for me is my thin shooting gloves, and if you moisten the fingertips you want to use it’ll almost always work.
If you slide the finger tip of the glove to the side so your actual finger is touching the side fabric of the finger and not the leather part it will work.
I never thought about it but I do have Mechanix gloves and an iPhone 4 so I tried it out. Screen works perfectly with the gloves. The only thing is the ‘app’ icons are a little small to hit perfectly every time with the gloves but in terms of screen responsiveness, it’s perfect.
They work for me on me iPhone 3. Especially when they’re sweaty, which is pretty much all the time in South TX.
