These are cheaper than SIG or Mec-Gar branded mags so I picked up a couple 15-rounders for my SIG P-226. MDS makes all Beretta’s double stack mags so I figured they had to be decent. Brownell’s had them for $16 each.
They came wrapped in plastic with a label stuck to the outside (bulk packed). Marked “MADE IN ITALY” and “P226-15”. Very nicely made with a glossy blue finish. I tried them (empty) in my P226 and they both locked in fine. I noticed that one would lock the slide back and one wouldn’t. Reading Brownell’s feedback from guys that have bought these, this seems to be a common occurrence (and also with their CZ 75 mags). Some guys changed out followers and they worked fine after that. I cycled the follower up and down several times in the questionable mag and that seemed to fix the problem, so I don’t know - maybe just tight tolerances or something else?
They’ll make decent range mags at any rate. Haven’t seen this brand for sale in some time, so I’m not sure if they’re as common as Mec-Gar.
