Mec Gar Glock Magazines

Just wanted to say I really like my new Mec Gar 18 round magazines for my G-19. Them make the same mag for a G17, but the G19 mag has a spacer at the base. Not carrying them yet but they have been flawless for over 300 rounds.

Yeah, lot of talk about those on P-G & elsewhere. For me, they’re totally pointless.

Mecgar makes good magazines. But only one more round vs the standard double stack Glock magazine?
It would be great if they make a flush fitting magazine for the G43 or G43X with at least two or three rounds over the single stack capacity.

This. If they would make a reliable, flush fitting 14-15 round magazine for the G43x/G48 that doesn’t require installing a new release they would sell tons of them.

Hard to beat the Shield 15’s for that. I know they get some hate in the interwebs but I’ve been running them since they came out and they’ve been basically flawless for me.

Indeed, THAT is an example of a good product that fills a real niche.

Certainly, I trust Glock mags the most. Magpul PMAGs have been very reliable as well. What I really like about the Mec Gar is a combination of the weight, the ease in which they go in and out of the mag well, the price, and the green guts. That follower is so easy to see and very easy to see what’s left in the magazine.

There was some scuttle butt about the Meg Cars not having an “over insertion” feature on them. So I didn’t grab any. I’m not really shooting any 9mm anyway.

ETS G43 flush fit has 1 extra round and is reliable, but Mecgar would likely do well selling an 8 or 9 rds G43 mag.

I bought two of the Mecgar 18 rounders for my Gen 5 G19. I’ve used them in several 2 gun matches and they’ve been flawless. I’m a recent convert to Glock since picking up this pistol already equipped with a Trijicon RMR.

Update…I’m easily over a thousand rounds in a couple of the G15-17 Mec Gar mags between Glocks and a Staccato HD. Zero issues. This will be the magazine I start accumulating more of. I already have a bunch of Glock and Magpul magazines so I really don’t need them but I want to put away 6-8 or so over the next year.

I’m also want to try that new Glock MecGar G43X magazine and add some of those. Again, don’t really need them but a few more magazines won’t hurt me.

How much wear do metal Glock mags put on the OEM Glock mag release?

Yeah I’d be curious to know that too.

If there was much of a price difference between these and OEM, I could see the appeal.

That’s what got me into Magpul Glock mags, have several.

But their Achilles Heel is the olastic feed lips. I had 3 in the training rotation, and have worn out all 3.

Interesting question…none that I can see but when I have nothing better to do I will pull it out of my G19 and see. That gun has a Vickers Tactical extended mag release.
