MB762SSAL pinned on a 12.5 barrel?

Greets guys,

my first post, for my first build. Hoping to keep it quite short and love the look of the elongated surefire(MB762SSAL specifically) comps.

Already have a barrel, upper, rail and BGC in mind. Just need the go ahead on legality.

The comp is over 4 inches, so one one imagine that pinned on a 12.5 barrel, it’d be at the 16 legal limit. Searched to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming you want to mount this on a 5.56 AR you are going to have problems as this brake is for 7.62 applications and the thread size is 5/8" versus the 1/2" for 5.56 AR’s. Not to mention you are going to end up just short of 16 inches as this is a reflex mount and extends rearward over the barrel and only adds about 1.5" to the barrel length. Not a problem if you are going for an SBR. Typically, people use a 14.5" barrel and pin these mounts- but go with the MB556AR to avoid the thread issue.

I meant this AR version and not the AL. I’ll run a 14.5 with it.
