May Update within KAC

I thought the folks here on M4C would like a bit of an update regarding the more recent happenings here at Knight’s Armament.

Basically we are in full swing with military orders for different products which from time to time put a dent in our commercial availability of certain products such as our suppressors at the moment. However it does allow us the opportunity to bring some of our newest products to the commercial market like the URX 3 series panel kits.

Also we recently found some rare suppressors that we are going to be selling for the HK USP CT systems. Now these are capable of being mounted on the USP CT, USP Tactical, & HK45 c.

Products aside things have been very busy here within the company with the recent departure of Lt. Col. Lutz who retired after 17 years with KAC. Things have gone into overdrive with an internal restructuring to better utilize the assets within our company and to streamline the different facets of the company. We are currently working on new products for our 5.56mm and 7.62mm weapon systems to release in the near future. We will make posts with updates and announcements.

Intriguing. I have one of the USP45T cans. What’s the deal with the end cap on this one?

The “end cap” on the USP CT suppressor is actually an encapsulator that allows 3 wipes to be placed in and screw onto the end of the suppressor. The other ring in the photo is a thread protector for the suppressor when the encapsulator is not mounted.

I love how you guys just find rare stuff laying around that was tucked into a corner and forgotten…

Idle question - are the wipes a DIY proposition since they can’t legally be possessed outside of a suppressor tube, or is this more of a collector’s item that isn’t really intended to be fired much? Or does it work fine without the wipes, it’s just quieter with them?

Hey Casey, thanks for the info…nice to see the M4C KAC subforum get a little attention for a change:D

The USP CT suppressor is pretty damn awesome based on the cool factor alone. I’m a big USPc fan.

Outta curiosity…will the new URX rail panel kit work with the new LM8 MRP/MWS rails. Given KAC and LMT’s extremely close relationship I’m tending to think so.

As nice as it is to see you now at KAC, I sure as hell miss getting my KAC IWS complete lowers from you.

We will be offering to SOT’s ONLY a repair kit bundle, so that when an individual wears out the wipes that come with the suppressor they can take it to their local SOT to have them “repair” the suppressor. These will only be available to SOT’s and are only to be sold when a suppressor needs new wipes.

I honestly do not know if these will work with the LMT system.

I was pondering the same thing, how the hell does that happen??

When will the URX III panels be available?

If you saw the place you’d understand.

Some of the panel kits have already started shipping out.

I can actually shed some light on this. As most people that are familiar with our company are aware our primary business is with Military/Gov’t & user groups. Because of this it is not uncommon for us to get a request for something which we gladly attempt to produce. If we do manage to please the customer and they decide to buy “x” item from us, typically what we will do is produce the amount they request as well as some extra for future purchases or service requests by the customer. So this means we will store “x” item for the customer until they need it again. In some cases the customer either finds something else or the requirement is no longer needed and the product sits on the shelf just in case it is requested. Usually it sits so long that we even forget that they are still there until we either stumble across them or a customer jogs our memory and we seek them out, such as the USP CT suppressors.

There are several ATF letters out there that say that it’s OK for an individual to replace wipes as long as you destroy the worn wipe and don’t have any laying around. ATF lettters may or may not be worth the paper they are printed on

The TM Poseidon and the DeGroat Nano both use wipes, sell a punch and provide the McMaster-Carr part numbers for the sheet of material needed to make your own.

Doesn’t include a punch because it’s easy to cut with scissors

Any ETA on the Mod1 upper? already pre-ordered mine but an ETA would be nice;)

Mod1 Uppers should be shipping very shortly.

We are currently shipping a lot of Mod1 complete rifles, but the seperated uppers should be going out the door soon.

Will the SR-15 LPR be available as a stand alone upper?

TIA

I think that has been confirmed. In fact I think KAC said all sr-15 upper will be offered separately.
