Who makes a good trigger for an Ak that is sayin the 4 to 5 pound range and durable and reliable. I hate heavy triggers. My new Saiga’s trigger is a bit stiffer than I care for.

The Tapco G2 is roughly 4-5 lbs. Red Star Arms is adjustable. You can buy them both here:
The Red Star Arms FCG can indeed give you a great trigger pull, but I’ve also seen them double and triple, you really need to tinker with them to get the right balance.
They’re not something I’d put in a “social” carbine, but for a range toy, sure.
The G2 breaks like glass in my rifles…and if you shop around you can find the single hook version for $29. Your AK will love you for it. 
Is it single or double-hook? That can make a difference too.

Its a single hook trigger. Thanks Templar for the information. I want a better trigger but I also want it reliable. I think I will just shoot what I have for now and see if it smooths out.

Are you talking about a converted or unconverted Saiga? If it’s converted it probably has a Tapco in there already (dunno what the Arsenal in-house conversions use). If it’s an unconverted Saiga with the godawful relocated trigger, no amount of shooting will break it in enough to be satisfactory. Convert the sucker.

Does it have a semi-two stage to it?
Kind of. It stacks a bit at the end which is what I don’t like.

That’s K-Var’s “two stage” trigger.
I have the same FCG in my SLR-106FR. It takes some getting used to vs. the traditional double hook trigger system found on milled and stamped Chinese AK’s, which tend to “roll” through.
The two stage actually works well for me when shooting at distance, and you quickly will learn how to stage that trigger if you get some time on it.
Jard, a name that you would think goes with ARs but they do make a trigger for the AK too.
