I’m considering the thought of selling my 92fs Centurion. I know there’s a pretty big craze out there right now with regards to the 92fs standard model as well as the M9…but I’m wondering if there’s any love for the Centurion?
The considered package would come with the original box, the firearm with Hogue grips installed, original grips included…and about 6 magazines ( two 17rds by MegGar, and four 15 rds mil mags). All paperwork would be included as well as the original Beretta lock that came with the gun. Any idea on market value?
I’ve checked GB and found a wide range of prices…so I’m asking here what ya’ll would consider a fair price. I’m not sure I’m going to sell it yet, but it’s something I’m considering.
I consider a reasonable price for a second hand Beretta 92 series pistol to be in the $400-500 range depending on model. I think production has kept up with demand for a while now and don’t think getting 92s new is difficult for anyone now, so there will be no premium. Assuming your gun is in excellent condition with the number of magazines you have, I’d ask $450-500 for it and see where it takes you.
While the full size 92FS and M9 may be the most popular, the smaller size Centurion might appeal to someone looking to CCW the pistol or someone who just doesn’t know the difference. I don’t think you loose anything really with a Centurion compared to the full size model. I’d love to get my hands on a new production Compact “L” model.
Thanks for the replies. This is a 95-98% gun with probably less than 10 magazines through it in its lifetime. I purchased it from my stepfather who bought it new. He fired about 3 magazines through it and then it was stored until I purchased it.
There’s no holster wear…in fact I doubt it’s ever been in a holster. Original grips are included, as well as the Hogue grip. My estimation on the # of magazines was correct. Two factory mags and 3 .mil mags. All original paperwork.
I think I paid $400 for it about 5 years ago. It’s just not something I shoot every day, so I’m considering selling it. Thanks again for the info.
Agreed with the member above. Go to the Beretta forum and put it for sale there. The Centurion is much more popular than the full size 92 series due to its lesser availability and its compactness. With the accessories you’ve listed, you should be able to easily ask for $600. I had a G Centurion and loved it, it never choked and one of the most accurate handgun I’ve ever owned.
I know! That’s one of the reasons I’m hesitant to sell it. It’s a great shooting firearm and its deadly accurate. As I’m sure every member feels the same way…I hate getting rid of guns. But I have this hankering for an AK that’s been eating away at me for years. Considering my preferences in handguns, the 92FS Centurion would be the first to go if I decide to get rid of one.
You know what? I got a new Canon DSLR for Christmas this year, so maybe I’ll take some pictures of it and post them here for sh*ts and giggles.
See what you can get for it. I would definitely try for $600 instead of what I stated, if not, you can always reduce (you just can never go up). I’d be interested if you lived in the PRK. :fie:
Well, good news…the original black plastic grips would be included as well. My stepfather is a large man with large hands. He pulled the stock grips off immediately after purchase and installed the Hogue grip…which he does on all his firearms. I doubt if they’ve ever been on the gun when it’s been fired.
