New scope from MARCH, looks interesting. I have the 3-24x42 and it is a great lightweight scope.
Way out of my price range.
I shudder to think what that $TBA will be.
I never heard or march before, but they have some interesting optics. 10x80x56 that is basically mounting a spotting scope with a reticle.
The 1x10 ffp is very interesting as well. 200 moa of elevation adjustment.
What would you compare the quality of the optic you have with? There’s a couple im interested in, but would have to buy without getting my hands on one.
Its odd a company with so many interesting products has so little exposure.
FFS a 10x80 would be a 10 power scope with an 80mm objective. A 1x10 would be a 1 power scope with a 10mm objective. Seriously, it’s not difficult. Just like a clip is not a magazine, it’s n-n(magnification range) x objective lens diameter.
If it is as standardized as you suggest why is it listed multiple way depending on company. I have seen 3x9x50, 3x-9x50, and 3-9x50. So if there is a standard as you suggested why sow it very from manufacturer to manufacturer, and retailer to retailer. If there was an industry standard i would think all manufacturers would use it.
I do agree where i put 1x10 is confusing, but 1x10x24 is self explanatory.
Please show me a manufacturer that lists this. Here is a quick sampling of common manufacturers. Notice the naming convention they all use.
It IS standardized across the industry. People are just lazy. Think about most online retailers (notice I did not say manufacturers) and how accurate their descriptions are.

The company the thread is about march uses 3x-9x-50 burris uses that way as well. Im not going to look up anymore. I just picked one you did not list, and new march used that style from earlier today.
None of the March scopes on the website linked in the first post list any of their scopes that way. In fact, March doesn’t even offer a 3-9xAnything. Is there another March website I missed? I seem to remember a March website some time ago that had a different format but I can’t find it.
Interesting with the Burris. Although at least they put a dash in between magnifications. So one manufacturer doesn’t follow the industry standard. That’s not too bad. Thanks for the link.

I did not link because Im on my phone. March list it two ways. 5-32x52 that is listed on the top in small letters showing where you are on the web page. Then in large letters showing the model it show 5x-32x 52. I do see most doing 3-9x50 recently.
