Very early this year I saw not one but two ads for a Manurhin MR 38 Match. It’s not a very common gun, basically an MR 73 in match guise and .38 special only, single action only with a 5 3/4 inch barrel.

I negotiated a bit with both sellers and bought one for $ 1775.-. It came with box, manual, both stock and anatomical grip (medium size so too small for me) original counterweight and trigger shoe. Serial number dates it to 1984

With my 2007 6 inch MR 73

Some range time, 25 m one handed (and that’s a challenge for me)

That severely extended Rear Sight looks like a blow job.

While I understand the desire for increased sight radius, an extension on the Front Sight or longer barrel would make more sense to me.
The Manhurin’s are top notch quality Revolvers, but I’d have to pass on that one.

I am not sure that an extended front line of sight is more pleasing to the eye.

In any case I believe it was necessary in order to comply with dimensions to be respected on the ISU rules.

And I thought the PSG1 grip was a little “busy.”
