Not while hunting where he could place the shot, a charging griz supposedly, so more realistic defensive use in a “real world” situation. Of course we all wanna know what gun and bullet was used:
Over on Glock Talk it is mentioned, “Has anyone ever heard of a grizzly taken down by a.45 GAP?”
.45 GAP !
Also has link attached of attack.

Didn’t know .45 GAP existed anymore.
My Aunt and Uncle packed up a truck and moved to the Kenai Peninsula right after WWII.
They’ve got some Brown Bear stories for you, aparently Bears are attracted to clothes swaying on a Clothes Line.
Lord knows how many Brown Bears She took out of Her kitched window.
There was a grizzly shot and killed in 2010in Denali NP that was rumored to be a .45 gap, but some reports say it was .45ACP… At any rate the shooter fired 9 rounds. It was not an instant stop, but the attack ended and the bear was found deceased later.
