t-1
d/d/ fixed sights. (should never be down anyway so why bother)
e-2 frame or grant’s little 2 battery tube,and v-tac mount
magpuls stock

ops is best can if u are buying retail call Steve at adco.
i use surefire because i am a dealer but like ops also veeeery quiet, when i shoot with Steve
i did not weigh the barrels before Lynn Freshly assembled them
i can weight the uppers but am leaving for 2 weeks in 2 days. email me if u care. cant post but Lynn can when we have time.
i have a bunch of colt skinny’s i have accumulated. ask Lynn Freshly as we have discussed it.
i chose this particular barrel as its the most accurate i own. i use it for a training gun as i have back recovery going on.
colt barrel with a v-tac , cut back to exactly 16.05 pinned and welded.
d.d. 11.5 with a d.d 7" or 9" is the heavier of the 2. not by much but u can feel it.
s/f 556 connector
d.d. flat top upper
h-1 or t-1
surefire with Grants skinny tube.
vtac plastic mount
both guns have all the exact same parts except for barrel and forend.
Well the parts are coming together now for the fresh, lighter start.
So far:
Standard forged M4 upper (as opposed to Billet)
DD Omega X 7.0 rail
DD 1.5 fixed rear and fixed front
No more vertical grip
Surefire M300 (on order)
Noveske 10.5" N4 switchblock barrel (calling tomorrow)
AAC 51T brake for M4-2000 can
Should be a bit lighter than the previous upper. Pics when done.
I like the DD sights and have been thinking of ditching my VFG’s too.
I plan to try a 10.3" bbl with an A1 slick side upper I just bought. I know the FA and shell deflector are not too heavy but it adds up. A CSACT rear aperture will replace the A1 aperture and I will put a tritium front sight on & MOE handguards so I can mount a light. This will be a spare upper for one of my SBR’s.
I have a 11.5 LE6933 set-up,
I had the front sight chopped, added a 9" VTAC Troy Rail
I have Larue Tall/T1
Troy Rear/Front
OPS Inc M4S to leave on gun full time. (ON ORDER)
Moe Grip/Stock
BCM MOD4 Charging handle
BFG/Redimod
SF M600 mounted to rail with 2 3/8" 8/32 machine screws and washers at 11 o’clock.
This is the best balancing setup I have had yet.
SBR-2
POF-Gen 2 SBR’d Lower
BFG/Redimod
BCM MOD4 Charging handle.
T1/Larue Tall.
CTR Stock
Miad grip
LWRCi M6A2 10.5 with AAC 51 tooth blackout FH.
Tango Stubby
SF M600 with Presure Pad Mounted to Top Rail 1 o’clock.
Troy front/rear BUIS.
Next build while not a SBR will be following
14.5 SS Midlength Barrel Dimpled.
Battle Comp 1.5 pinned
VTAC Troy 11"
Lower will have Moe Stock
Miad grip
No Redimag.
Run X300 on top Rail
DD fixed front/rear
T1/DD mount.
Giving what I think a very well handling GP carbine. (I don’t currently own a rifle I can transport without ATF approval/notification)
I think all those parts will work together, but you might consider the 10.5" Light Shorty, SWITCHBLOCK upper as a better holistic solution. The Omega X 7.0 and the 10.5" Noveske barrel should work together but then you’ve still got to mount the DD front sight behind the switchblock on the top/front of the rail. Depending on how you’re planning on mounting that light you could be running out of room very quickly.
I’ve seen a rail/tube from Apex Machining that they did a notch out for the Switchblock. If they could do a tube that is as long as possible on a 10.5" barrel and still allow the mounting of the M4-2K and include a cutout for the Switchblock that would be tits. You could mount this on a standard M4 upper.
Not to talk you out of a new gun but if you want you can have a 16" or longer upper and slap it on one of your SBRs when/if you want to travel w/o a letter. As long as your not in possesion of the short upper you’re good to go. Just leave it at home. That said I did pretty much the same as you. Two SBRs and a 14.5" middy with a perm AAC so it is 16".
DD sells complete SBR’s I contacted them a few months ago. I wanted a factory SBR lowere which was a no go with them. They will ship right to your Class III dealer.
Noveske does as well. I think Noveske said if you owned one of their lowers you could send it back when you purchased an upper and applied for a form 4 and they would re register it as a SBR for you when your stamp came back, avoiding the engraving. Kind of a cool option.
