magpul "rebuild kits" for high cap ban states...

i live in NY.
i’ve got a legal steel AR mag that i’d like to squash and “rebuild” as a magpul.
according to this site http://www.44mag.com/prodinfo.asp?number=PMAGP i can legitimitely do that.
has anyone got an ATF letter? (though i geuss technically it’s up to NY’s version of the ATF, not the feds anymore)

will my door be beaten down by jack booted thugs?

How would you prove the original mag ever existed, and if it did, that it was in fact destroyed?

I don’t buy that at all.

I heard elsewhere that you can rebuild a mag if you keep one part.

That’s a full mag but disassembled.

That’s totally ridiculous.

I live in Maryland, which limits capacity to 20 rounds. I may not have complete mags shipped to me from ordering them online.

Under Maryland law, I can buy the kits, but I may not “manufacture” magazines in-state.

It is perfectly legal to own high cap mags in MD. I can go to virginia, buy them, and bring them home and everything is kosher.

With the PMag kits, I order them, and drive into virginia to assemble them. Voila! Legal Magazine.

I work 2 miles from the viginia border. On my lunch break, I drive across the border, pull over, then assemble my kit mags.

Ridiculous, right? I LOL at liberals.

44MAG gets all my PMag dollars! Quite a bit by now!

It would be ridiculous if you actually do that.

We know you don’t though

from what i hear, you flatten it, and keep it.

Why would you feel the need to call him out on that? Let the man do what he needs to do to be able to use normal 30rd mags.

Your posts have been heading downhill lately  I used to look forward to your input on most topics.

Of course I do! shifty eyes

IMHO the ridiculous part is that some idiot has legislated the need for our man PTM76 to have to perform such a stupid task in the first place! What a stupid law.

Politican’s suck! And the people that vote for the idiots that propose and inact stupid legislation like that suck even worse.

Sorry for the rant!

It’s not a rant when it’s the truth

Bullitt-

You misread what I meant or as usual, I didn’t express myself correctly.

What I was saying is it would be silly to run across state lines to assemble them and bring them back. I then went on to say “I’m sure you don’t” because he knows that’s the law and he WILL do that, whether anyone will be able to tell where they were assembled.

A lot of people would just build them at home and say they went out of state. He’s in the best position to build them out of state being so close but at the same time, it could be theorized by shady people (disclaimer) that he should or would just stay home to build them and say “well of course I went over the state line, it’s too close not too.”

Besides, you are totally wrong. My posts have been going downhill forever

I was hoping you would take the  as me joking with you!

so am i going to jail or what?

I see you’ve never lived in Maryland.

Maryland is 2nd to California in the running for Most Liberal Douchebag State in the Union.

If it’s legal to rebuild like you say then either travel and rebuild them.

No! You need to start scooping up mags with no date codes on the body. I doubt anyone will carbon 14 test your mags to prove their DOB.

Or buy early dated mags from people. What’s your constraint? Pre 94??

I beleive 9-14-94 was the day life went sour…

09-14 is my birthday. 1994 was not a good year for me either.

But now I live in free America!

Happy Birthday to me!

yeah… pre-94 is the constraint. i’ve got one crappy steel mag i plan to crush. i’m thinking i should keep the crushed mags in my range bag in case i get any questions from the local constable.

Can you buy pre ban mags from out of state?

There are lots of USGI mags with no date code on them also.
