I am getting a mid length version for my build and would like to hear from current users on how they are attaching slings while using this handguard. I typically use a two-point VCAS sling (attached near the FSB) and prefer the two-point setup. I am currently using a Troy DI-MRF and attach the sling via QD swivel to the front side of the rail. Gonna try the MOE hoping for a light-weight forearm but still wanna use a two-point sling with front attachment option. I was thinking of adding a polymer MOE rail to the front side of the handguard, then attaching a QD swivel loop to that but it seems like a lot of hardware. I have concerns about the durability of the poly rail attachments to the MOE when using a sling setup as described above. I assume I will probably endup having to use a side sling adapter (an option I dread) or maybe a Magpul RSA in some configuration with a clip. Thanks in advance! ![]()
I am looking at buying a middy too, and want to use Magpul components. I am looking through this topic for ideas. Hope it helps you. http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=36421&highlight=moe+sling
I run a vcas sling on my bcm lw middy… I have moe hg on it. I’m using an iwc(mount n slot) limited rotation mount for the front sling mount and a tangodown pr-4 mount for the rear. The iwc sling mount works great but do to the mid length hg not having slots to the rear I drilled the holes for the mount so it would sit closer to the delta ring. Set up works great.
These guys have what you need, and several options to choose from:
I also like a 2 point sling and have the moe handguard on my middy.
Here is my simple setup that works just fine - (for ME) ![]()
