A MIAD purchase seems to be on the horizon for me…I would like feedback on this product from those of you who use or have used this grip…Positive and Negative…Thanks.
My favorite but the MOE grip would be just as good if you dont need the extras.
As I understand it the MOE setup was picked because that is the typical setup that most people use. With that in mind I would see if you can handle one and see if it works for you. As posted above it will save you money. The MIAD and the MOE grips are my favorite.
I had the MIAD Basic on my Bushmaster lower because I wanted something a little larger and more grippy than the standard grip it shipped with. I found it to be extremely comfortable for my medium sized hand and it offered a more positive grip due to the texture. I like the medium back strap the best.
I later purchased an LMT lower with the ergo grip which was really comfortable but the larger size of the MIAD was even better for me. I ended up putting it on the LMT lower as well and its been working out really well.
The only problem I have with this grip is before I mounted it on the LMT lower I pinned it with the supplied pin in the package and the back strap shifts now.
The grip never had any problems with out the pin in place.

Thanks for the input, guys. I will probably make the purchase tomorrow, so that’s why I’m seeking out personal experiences.
the moe works well for me too.
Umm… I was wondering the same. If the MIAD was worth the extra $$$, but appears the everyone else like the MOE better. I just found my next upgrade:D
I use the magpul MIAD full grip with the trigger guard and the med back strap. The textured grip is nice kinda feels like fine grit sandpaper in the palm of your hand. I like it better than the ergo that came with my LMT lower. One word of caution it is very tight the first time you install it you may have to curse at it once or twice.
Hmmmm…I think I will see if I can handle a rifle with an MOE…Do the extras justify the price of a MIAD??? Or does the one-piece structure of the MOE make it a more “reliable” solution???
thats funny when i installed mine i did quite a bit of cursing. I like mine put it on my lmt instead of the ergo grip.
Depends once you find the grip size you like there really is no need in the extra ones. I bought mine before the moe was released do you want to run the magpul trigger guard also with the miad the front strap and trigger guard are one piece so there is no gaps with between the trigger guard and front strap. There rear strap has a roll pin once its in there the back strap will not move.
I went with the MOE and the MOE trigger gaurd, still cheaper than the MIAD and fits my hand perfect.
Is the MOE trigger guard the same as the MIAD? does it fill the gap as well as the one-piece version of the MIAD?
I’m 6’4" so I have fairly large meat hooks.
The MOE is nice and a terrific value, but for me it’s the large backstrap on the MIAD that is most comfortable. Is it worth the difference in $$$$ ? For me it is.
If you don’t need the extra girth of the large backstrap go with the MOE. I’d try and handle both first if I could if I was you.
Good luck in your decision, it really is a win-win situation.

It’s obviosly not one piece, but I think it works just as well.

My MOE trigger gaurd fills the gap and is very comfortable, Go to your local dealer that carries Magpul and get the feel for both, the MOE grip was just right for my hand. The thing I didn’t like about the MIAD w/ attached trigger gaurd was that it had a protrusion that fits between your fingers, I personaly find them uncomfortable.
It’s great and it sucks at the same time, whats not to like? Too many choices. My next build is gonna’ have one of those newfangled Stark grips on it, that way I can just break the ears off just because I can. That will feel nice.![]()
I got the MIAD, and my son loves it. He can palm a basketball easily, and the standard grip puts his second knuckle over the trigger. With a MIAD set up at max, he has a correct finger placement automatically, and I can switch out backstraps to fit my much smaller hands. The texture is also much easier to hang on to when I shoot gloveless.
I have tried both the MOE and MIAD and I actually prefer the MIAD because of the more aggressive texture on the backstrap (similar to the sides of the MIAD). The MOE backstrap is less aggressive, if that matters to you. Also, if you like the front finger grip similar to the A2 grip design, you have the option for this, too with the MIAD.
On the con-side, the MIAD costs a bit more than the MOE, but I figure you might as well like what you’ll be gripping most all of the time you are shooting/using your weapon…
