The new ones do look nice especially that front site.

Thanks for the pics Stick. It now looks sturdier than the Gen 1. I like the new ridges on the latch, looks easier to get a purchase on when wet. Damn you Magpul, you now get more of my money.
I’m not quite sure how to put it into words, but the MBUS GEN II is a much more polished piece of equipment. I think a lot of guys who didn’t want to use the first generation will look twice at these, especially as more people start to use them.
My guess is that they will become much more popular than the first series, and those were no slouches…

Seems like they still take up about twice the volume of the Troys.
The question I have is, are the rear apetures a same plane design. I would be very interested if they were, if not, not so much.

Damn it! I’ve had the 1st Gen for quite some time and never mounted them until recently. Did so about a week ago. Now this!!! One of my dislikes about the original series was the fact that they were too “bulky” for me. Gen 2’s seem to fix that one complaint… well, the front site pin too…
Any pictures with both the old version and the newer Gen II side by side?
I’ve got a few other projects going on, but if I’m shooting something with a workable lighting setup I’ll do some a little later.
I’d love to see some comparison pics also if you get the chance to mess with it.
I saw that the new front sight isn’t compatible with railed gas blocks. Just curious why that would be?
