Hello. I’m a little disappointed. I ordered some new furniture for my DDM4 V7. This is my first rifle, that I’ve had since last year spring time. This is the first time that I’ve made any changes to the rifle. I ordered the polymer Magpul grip along with other stuff. I just tried to fit the grip to my rifle, and the screw hole doesn’t line up by roughly 25% (maybe a tad less). The hole over shoots the receiver hole. It was an extremely tight fit, and took much muscle to work it back and forth to get it on, shaving a bunch of polymer in the process. I took it back off and tried getting the screw started and thought maybe I could get it on so far and then tighten the screw down to work the grip on. No dice. I tried using my long handle Husky, and I can’t torque that thing anymore because of it being misaligned.
I ordered the wrong grip in the first place! I meant to order the rubbery Magpul and got the polymer instead. Oh well, I guess it was meant to return. Has anyone ever experienced this with the Magpul grips? I’ve been pleased with their other accessories. I thought about filing it out to get it to fit, and still could, but I’d have to file enough that it will need a washer. Is my situation out of the norm? I got it from Bravo and know it’s not a knock off.
Another kicker, I just got a UBR and don’t have a castle nut wrench. I swore up and down that I had one somewhere and can’t find it. Nobody in the area stocks them either. I’ll order one online, but I was hoping to install this stuff to test Saturday at a 3 gun polar shoot. Sigh…
On the positive side, my Mod 3 BCM Charging handle arrived. That thing is saweet. Holy cow, now I know what all the fuss is about!
Anyone in Metro Detroit going to the Blue Water 3 gun shoot on Saturday and have a castle nut wrench to bring
?
