I’ve been keeping an eye out for these too.
I just finally received mine from a backorder at Brownells that I placed probably 6 months ago. Either they are VERY popular or Magpul doesn’t have them real high on the priority list. I am glad I ordered them though. Its nice to have a little something to pull down on to make sure the mag seats.
I’ve wanted to try these as well but finding them in stock is next to impossible. Any other places to look other than Brownells?

I’m afraid I never could figure out what purpose they were supposed to serve.
If something is going to make the butt of my pistol longer, it had better hold more rounds.

This is just a thought and I am not advocating their use…but one possible application might be allowing open-topped mag carriers that are deeper, with possibly better retention?
You could grab the handle even if 99% of the mag body was covered by the mag pouch.
As I said I am not advocating their use, in part because I am not sure what impact they would have on how you would index the mag after drawing it.
But that might be one possible advantage. Whether it made up for any potential disadvantages I am clearly in no position to judge.
I use them on about a 1/2 dozen various G-rock mags. They provide a bit of support for the G26 mags and make pulling 17 mags out of nylon pouches a lot easier. I like them for certain roles. But that’s just me.
You’re welcome. My little post might actually help someone who is thinking of sticking a counterproductive doo-dad on their pistol reconsider. Plus it took no more bandwidth than your “me too” post.:rolleyes:
As “misanthropist” opined, it might help one dig the mag out of an excessively deep mag pouch. Perhaps it would be better to buy a proper pouch instead.
I suspect that they are intended to facilitate some sort of mag juggling for “tac-loading” or “reloading with retention”, both bad ideas if time is critical and, if time and cover are available, then why do we need a doo-dad?
I’m sure anyone who wants them will eventually find some.

and again, thank god you’re here to talk sense into everyone, who couldn’t POSSIBLY have a use for something that perhaps you see no value in. :rolleyes: God forbid someone analyze a product and come to a different conclusion than you.
My “me too” post served two functions, BTW. One is that it tagged the thread so I could get updates for all the enlightenment that your posts are bestowing, and second is that if someone happened to have some they were looking to get rid of, or knew of a link to some for sale, they could shoot me an email or a PM.
I respect everyone has thier own opinion on this subject but this thread was made to try and find a place to buy them from someone who already has, not argue about wether they are good kit or not, Ill decide that on my own. I have my own reasons for wanting to try them. If thats what I wanted to know thats what I would have asked. Yes they probably are not good for certain applacations but for me I want to try them on my G26, for a extended finger rest that also functions as a way to rip the mag out should it not drop free due to the short grip of the gun which “I think” may be one purpose of the part. So please if you have some helpfull info post it, but lets not turn this thread into an arguing match,lets leave that for TOS! Thanks.–TG
Haven’t those been out for a few years now? I know a local place that carries them. I’ll have to check and get back to you.
Bronwells has been the only place I’ve ever seen carry them.
The ones I got came from Jtac supply in Oklahoma. Picked them up off him at a Tulsa show. Don’t know if he still has any in stock or not. This was last year.
I’ve got a few on B/O at Brownells as well.
I saw a few sets @ SOG ARMORY in Houston last week. Just checked the website and they are not listed. I’ll go back soon and double check.
All I can say is hope Brownell’s doesn’t take 6 months to deliver my back order…

I found like 20 or so today at the PX here on Ft.Hood. all are black and in packs of 3.
