Looking at this as a replacement for my milspec type stock. Like the sloped cheekweld area. Looking for decent longer range stock, but still collapsible and looking for reasonable price. Anyone using this, and how is it working for you?
They are heavy and increase length of pull substantially. The cheek weld is nice but there are other stocks that provide the same cheekweld and aren’t as bulky.
Great cheek weld and locks up very tight. I used it on a 20" SPR-type build where the extra weight was nice to offset the barrel some.
As mentioned it’s weighty for what it is. Something to think about if it’ll be carried much.
Have one on one of my BCM builds. It is a nice stock, cheekweld is nice, and extra LOP isn’t a huge issue for me, and likely shouldn’t unless you are some smurf who thinks that an M4 stock all the way in is too long, or believe that the stock should only have two positions, in and all the way out. Also, the ACS, being slightly longer, for me at least, means that my beard down not get tugged at between the area where the stock and RA meet like it does with my CTR(This may or may not be an issue depending on how you shoot, I shoot NTCH so both the CTR and ACS at the same LOP the ACS has more area for my face to ride on.) Though I will tell you that stacking in batteries, and other odds and ends I have managed to increase the weight by over half a pound, if not more(Scale I am using ain’t exactly precise.) depending what all you feel the need to shove in the bitch. Also the QD cup, the way it is mounted no the stock, not being integral like more, dare I say more, maybe current designs, can result in being poked uncomfortably depending on your sling and QD cup arrangement. Also, they are not the easiest stocks to remove due to the design(Debatable if this is an issue, but seeing as I can remove pretty much all other collapsible stocks I have handed with bare hands it is worth mentioning.
Personally am looking at replacing it to something lighter and simpler. Even swapping it for a CTR with drop the weight by at least a quarter pound, if not more. Also the STR is another option that offers extra cheekweld and is lighter as well. If you want slopped checkweld area were are other stocks out there as well.
I would strongly suggest the ACS-L, it has all the features of the ACS but without the bulk.
I have an ACS-L, and I really like it. Cheek weld is great, and the overall balance of my rifle is good too.

Your feedback is making me reconsider. I am now leaning towards either the ACS-L or the STR.

STR is certainly worth a look…basically a CTR with a cheek weld.
The ACS-L is my go-to carbine stock. It is one of the only collapsible stocks that will actually adjust long enough for me (I like to run my rifles at about the same LOP as an A2 stock most of the time). For me the ACS is the right length when it is one position in from fully extended. Cheek weld isn’t any different than any other collapsible stock when ran long – your cheek just ends up on the buffer tube regardless. For this reason it doesn’t make a good precision stock (nor does any collapsible). I have fixed stocks on all my scoped rifles for cheek weld reasons.
ACS-L for me also.
I like the cheek weld and LOP, no need for battery storage.

If I had to choose now, it would be ACS-L, but the ACS stocks I have work great over my A5 RE/Buffer setups, and are basically unbeatable for that. Since the fully collapsed position is junk for me (I’m 6’2" and lanky), all I lose is an inch of collapsed OAL being bigger, and that it’s a touch heavy (still light compared to a UBR).
I have 4 of the most common Magpul stocks: MOE, CTR, STR, and ACS. My favorite is the STR, but the ACS provides a little extra storage area and LOP since my AR is a HD rifle with a sling. Weight is not an issue if you train with it and in good shape.
+1 for the STR. Absolutely love mine.
