Why do you guys buy so many magazines? Do you randomly hide them around the house for some rare scenario or is it because you wont have time to reload should you get into a gun battle? I read posts with people having 25+ magazines.

You can NEVER have enough magazines…
Because without magazines your gun is just a heavy unwieldy impact weapon. Because they like to ban magazines. Because mags are expendable. ETC ETC

magazines are disposable…when they go bad get rid of them. It’s best to have some spares around.

6 for BOB
6 for Plate Carrier
24 for training only
36 to replace the training and duty mags as they become unservicable
Several in weapons
That’s over 75

The life expectancy of the average USGI 30rd magazine is not as
long as you might think, especially if you keep them loaded.
They are relatively fragile and are definately disposable.
You can’t have too many.

Buy another mag and join the team.
Additionally, if the SHTF scenario occurs (zombies/aliens/people that don’t think like us) you will want as many loaded mags as possible. You never want to find yourself in a situation where the magazine you just grabbed is the last one that feels heavy.
More loaded mags = more chance of survival.
In the other forum I am on people thought it was dumb that since I just got a new bushmaster ORM and it’s my first AR I was going to buy 100 mags just to get started. Glad to see I am not the only one who thinks it’s a good Idea.
I don’t know why I have the number of mags I do. (60 or so AR)
At the rate I wear them out, I’d have to live to 300 years old to need what I have.
