His bill has attracted 16 Democratic co-sponsors, including Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, who is planning to roll out a ban on military-style, so-called assault weapons on Thursday.
I guess we will find out how strong Harry Reid will stand his ground in the Senate and how the Repubs in Congress will stand.
In a rational universe this should have no chance in hell to pass with Repubs controlling the house and Reid stating recently AWB has no chance in the senate. Hopefully, this would apply to any sweeping legislation as well such as magazine restrictions. This should be just another wild hair the activists come up with but has no broad base support.
The wild card is that our politicians don’t think in a rational universe, so who can tell what direction and scope their greedy little minds will decide upon.
Normally, I’d expect politicians to vote with their constituents or the people that give them money.
After what happened in New York and the fact that mass shootings continue I’m not sure we’re going to know what’s going to happen until it happens.
More & more mass shootings will eventually change more & minds
in Congress.
Wait untill someone goes into an old folks home…again…or another school…again…or another Walmart…again…
Interesting that they are attempting separate bills.
Wait until they start trying to add magazine bans and AW bans to every bill they can.
I’m betting they are going to try to force this through with procedural nonsense just like Obamacare.
Gunbroker frenzy Part II in 5, 4, 3, 2…
Thanks for the heads up Irish, this is why so many of here have been saying that the fight has not yet to even began.
Sounds like its time to reach out to the politicians again. I haven’t called in a couple weeks so they are due to be bugged.
I also contact Boehner and Cantor. It is important for everyone at that level to know we are watching.
You betcha
Should prove to be an interesting week when Feinstein unveils her AWB.
They are saying the fight hasn’t begun because Feinstien hasn’t even officially introduced anything. They are doing 2 bills probably because Feinstiens bill is absolutely insane and probably has a 1% of passing.
Here is a good article on what Reid may do from the lefty media.

He may not even allow a vote.
While I understand what you are saying it is in fact open seaon on America’s gun culture. They will keep chipping away piece by piece.
Yup. Spot on. They DO NEED to know we are watching.
I’m hearing that Reid is trying to change the Senate filibuster rules and thereby pull an end run on us. Should happen on Thursday (oddly enough to coincide with The F (since Obama is referred to as “The O”) introduction of the AWB). He and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are working on a compromise (aka the Republicans caving) so they can get Gun Control ( I call it Gun Restriction) Laws onto the floor. :nono:
I just want everything to go back to normal…
Anybody have a link to the details of the ban?
Same as the “old” AWB ban or a New York style ban?
Outlawing transfers of grandfathered mags? I hope that is in there, that will kill it for sure. MANY people that might support a ban will take offense at the gubbamint telling them what they can/can’t do with their personal property.
Do you think it would be a different reaction if these were terrorist attacks? If a single terrorist attacked schools, old folks homes, suicidal bombing at gas stations, what steps would we take to curb that? That is probably the way we need to look at this whole Mass Shooting thing.
They are going to try a lot of things but in the end they don’t have the political capital to pass what they want right now.

Never forget New York.
With all due respect New York was easy to predict. Very anti gun state and what happened there was no surprise. I imagine California and others will suffer as well. But on a national level I don’t think they will get a mag ban or a AWB.
