Guy trying to sell me a Like new maadi ak47 , I know nothing about aks or what to check for quality, he says he’s the second owner, and he doesn’t know when it’s manufactured but it doesn’t look like any of the maadi aks on Atlantic or anything similar … Hoping you guys could give me some insight .

What receiver?
The Maadis at Atlantic are US barrel and Krebs parts… so I’m not even sure what’s “Maadi” about them… the front and rear trunnion plus barrel hardware?
If it’s a real Maadi, then yes.
Pictures make it difficult to tell but that rear trunion rivet makes the receiver look pinched which has bad news written all over it.
Show me the import marks and the muzzle.
Also, correct me if I’m wrong but that bolt cover isn’t Egyptian Maadi - I believe that Maadi covers were smooth like Norinco’s, not ribbed like Romanian.
You are wrong. Maddi covers are ribbed AKM pattern.
Yep, there are several kinds of Maadi’s out there including pre89 imports which sold for $1,200 30 years ago to “parts kit” maadis that have a US barrel and aren’t worth anything. The most common are the Sporter Maadis with thumbhole stock and the CAI imports with no barrel threads.
