So I’ve been putting quite a few rounds thru the saker on my colt and I’ve noticed that after a mag or so I can ratchet the suppressor on tighter than at first. Is it actually working itself loose as I shoot or is it some sort of thing due to the heat?
I have not had this experience, I would contact Silencerco, their CS is very good. My other thought is how tight is the MAAD mount?, there is a very small notch that the MAAD mount top should sit in when tightened and it should not be in the notch when loose. I know when first installing I was confused about this.
Here is a video that details the mount and everything else on the Saker. Mounting the suppressor onto the muzzle device starts around 8:00. If you follow all of the steps properly and it is still coming loose, then you may have an issue.
I have had this problem also. I have also had the can blow off of the mount while shooting,twice. After the first time i replaced the Trifecta mount with their brake and it happened again. I contacted Silencerco, to let them know and ask if they wanted the mount back for inspection. The CS guy I spoke with said that, they would replace the mount and the brake for free and include a return tag for my old one. They told me that once the can blows off the mount needs to be replaced. I would call Silencerco and tell them your situation.
Did they say why it happened?
I would highly recommend taking a paint pen and making an index mark on the can at 6 o’clock when it is fully tightened on your mount. Then see where it is after you fire a magazine.
I can say with certainty that my saker has never loosened up. If anything, after a few hundred rounds it’s super difficult to remove until I whack the can at the tip a few times in opposite directions with the palm of my hand.
If you are speaking to me,no. As soon as I told them the can blew off the mount they asked me if there was any damage to the can(there was none) and they would send me a new brake and MADD mount. I did notice that the lip that the 4 cam’s lock against was rolled over and some metal had chipped off of it.
Well, the accuracy has been excellent and the poi shift has been minimal so I didn’t really think too much of it at first. To clarify, I just got the colt back from being cerakoted and they also did the FH. The saker seems to install correctly though, but I don’t want it blowing off the weapon. Bad juju. I’ll email silencerco. I guess I’ll also check to see if it does this on my 300 BLK sbr, if it has been I haven’t noticed it yet.
