Hey guys, I used the search function but most of the “answers” were in the form of dead links as most of the discussion on this relatively old light is a few years old.
So I’ll ask here.
What is the best option to upgrade a Surefire M962 to at least 300 lumens?
Yep, M951 does not use same bulb as M961. Then, Malkoff M61 will not fit in M961. Malkoff had a MD10 module, exclusive for M962 and M3 lights, however its no longer available.
Actualy, IMHO the best upgrades for M962 is provided by LumensFactory. They have incan bulbs and LED drop in.
If you do go with the Lumens Factory drop-in you should know that the 90 CRI version will put out at most about 200 lumens - you would probably be better off getting an LU60 adapter and bezel to go with a Malkoff M61 running on two cells at that point. Another option you might consider is a custom D36 dropin from someone like Nailbender from CPF, his XM-L2 version here should be a retina scorcher.
