Any experiences or preferences I should be aware of? I appears that the spec out the same regarding lumens and battery life and the only difference is the user interface.
No? Leaning towards Scout with V head so I can get it at 11:00.
Side note, if I run it next to the FSB at 11:00, will I experience splash from the IR laser sitting at 12:00?
One more chance on the first page?
Maybe I need to be asking our SME’s if any of them have any experience with either setup.
Thopkins22,
I have used both the M600V and M720V in a low/no-light environment. Please keep in my I am a civilian shooter and have 0 “real world” experience. But I prefer the M600V because of the simple user interface. The only manipulation required other than activation is rotating the bezel to switch between white/IR. Its a very tactile function and impossible to accidentally swap.
The RAID has the bezel and two additional output setting switches. I never used them as I didn’t have a need and I think the majority of people would keep them on the “High” settings.
I also prefer the scout form-factor as mounting options are plentiful. Not to mention its cheaper. The M600v is also lighter by a little over an ounce.
But for me, the simplicity of the user interface is why I chose it.

I would also like to try the LDI OV-3, I’ve mounted it, but haven’t got to use it thus far…

I hope that helps a little
I’d get the Scout… screw all that crazy strobe and low settings and even on top of paying a ridiculous amount for the RAID you still can’t change the head out down the road.
Scout hands down.
Interesting placement of the Surefire dual switch.
When you activate the IR laser/illuminator on that DBAL using the dual switch, do you not get a large splash of IR light reflecting off your hand?

I don’t use that setup, but others do. From what I understand, they don’t use the DBAL illuminator, just the IR light.
I put this together to answer another question, but it may be helpful here to get an idea of the size difference.

Thank you for the pic. I’ve been thinking about similar setups and this thread definitely delivers.
No Problem. Here are some lights from the top:
