Trying to decide between the aimpoint t1 and the m4s. I found a great price on both but cant decide. Anyone have any extended use with either? Durability, ease of use any little quirks you have discovered. Leaning towards t1 but worried that the smaller tube will be slower getting dot on target. Thanks…![]()
On what type of firearm?
Sorry left that part out. Im putting it on a magpul/noveske moe carbine.

My personal opinion is the M4S. I have conducted an extensive run of the T-1 Micro on an M4 pattern carbine and I have found that I prefer the full size optic. The T-1 is the right choice for non-AR platforms. Opinions differ on this, of course.
I like the T-1 for it’s light weight, but I can shoot tighter with a full sized Aimpoint. The dot on the T-1 is blurry for me because its about 3 MOA. The 4 MOA dots are not blurry for me. My go to gun has a T-1 because I shoot it just fine to a great distance and low weight matters to me a lot.
Other than the dot thing, no complaints with the T-1.
You running NV?

I do run the occasional nv setup. I have my colt 6920 set up as a dedicated weapon for nv.
I would save some money then and go with the H1.

Grant, do you find that the dot is as fast to get on target as the m4s or the m3? Does the smaller tube take more time to focus your eye to? So why the h1 over the t1…lack of nv settings and cheaper? Ive heard the t1 is a bit more durable, could be b.s. Thanks
Yes. I personally run a Micro (H1 and T1)
The H1 and T1 are both the same quality.

For what its worth, I prefer the M4s, I find the 30mm tube to be much more forgiving with cheekweld and awkward shooting positions.
T-1/H-1
I have been running the T1 on my work gun since Larue came out with their mount for it. For me it does everything the full size version does and saves weight and footprint. If you want a full sized model save your money and get the M3 instead. NV compatible and it still has 50k worth of battery time. With the money saved you can get a Larue mount as well which IMHO is far superior then the stock M4 one and still have cash left over.
They are both absolutely outstanding. It is, quite literally, a matter of preference.
So before this thread turns into “I like the T-1” “No, I like the M4S” you cannot go wrong with either.
Deleted.
As The_Katar said, they are both good. But it doesn’t really matter what we like, what matters is what you like. You owe it to your self to try both before you buy if you can.
Your post didn’t say where you are from. I am in Central Texas. If you are in the area, I am running a H-1 and one of my buds is running a M4S. If you are close, send a PM and we’ll arrange to meet at our club range. Barring that, reach out to those in your area.
Thanks for the invite Austin. Unfortunately I am in the eastern U.S. Ive played with the M4s and own a comp m2. Both are great but I have only seen the t1 in a local shop and it was not mounted on a rifle. although I do find it to be one bad ass looking RDS. ![]()
CompM4(M4s) is 11.8 ounces. Micro T-1 w/LT66X mount is 6 ounces. 8 ounces=1/2 lb.
