M4Carbine.Net - Thank you

I have been a members of many forums over the years and so far this place is the most professional I’ve been to. There is a much higher signal to noise ratio then the other AR sites. Less mall ninja and more real folks doing real things. Even the General Discussion here is more professional and calm. It is not like a screaming gaggle of high school freshmen playing Call of Duty. It is a calm and collective discussion where different topics and issues can be raised.

I would have to say my three favorite forums are here, Smith-Wessonforum.com, and Surplusrifleforum.com

In the end, thanks for making this a great place and keeping out the riff raff.

So what’s the best .410 defensive load for my Taurus judge?

So WTF? There’s another General Discussion sub-forum around here that no one’s told me about?

Montanadave, go to some others. It’s a rawvaginafest.

Wut? I’m must be sheltered

OP

Make sure to read the knowledge based threads and stickies. They contain a good amount of information on a variety of subjects. Have fun.

Looks like he’s been around for a few years … probably just weary of slogging it out elsewhere online, trying to find a place with a site culture that isn’t quite so ridiculous. Which is why we put so much effort into maintaining ours. There is a method to the madness.

You were never invited. You use big words

OP, I agree. The general discussion can get weird at times, but ultimately that’s not why I come here. A few years ago, this site saved me from trying to have a 1911 built in .357 Sig

That sounds like an interesting project. Can you tell me in a nutshell why it is a bad idea?

I can’t remember all the details, but the mechanics of the 1911 just doesn’t work well with that round. Apparently its a huge nightmare to get working right. It can be done as Ned C. has proven, but its an expensive endeavor. I still went ahead with the build, but in .45, and it turned out very nice. I still like the .357, but stick to Sig and HK for it.

Oh no he didin…

S.M.

I was toying with the idea of a 40 S&W caliber 1911 mainly because I have so much 40 brass but I gave up on it because no one makes one. If no one makes one there is probably good reasons. A 9mm 1911 is on my list as I have even more 9 brass than 40. If you get a 38 Super 1911 you don’t need a 357 SIG.

You got it… been over at the other sites and those places are like mad houses. I’m into the zombie thing and I don’t trust the Feds but damn. Its like someone let their 14 year old on the PC and a digital camera to take pictures of their airsofts and their dad’s guns.

Right platform, wrong caliber. .40S&W all the way bro!

Wilson Combat offers .40 S&W 1911s…

A blow torch, bench grinder, slip-n-slide, and a cactus. In that order.

I heard it was the XRBR rounds.
