M4 trigger?

So what does the original have a single or doublestage:confused:

If you’re talking a real US Military M4 (Colt). The original M4 had a single stage trigger and a selector of safe-semi-burst and the M4A1 has single stage trigger and a selector with safe-semi-auto.

yes thats exactly what I’m asking. So why do alot of folks use 2 stage if uncle sam doesn’t?

It’s all personal preference.
2 stages are good for match/precision rifle triggers, they kind of feel like a Glock. Where you have a real easy take up and then get on it a little harder and it’ll fire.

I prefer single stage triggers myself. The Timney is great, I installed one on my wifes suppressed Noveske gun, it is worlds ahead of the McCormick that it replaced. I use an adjustable JARD in my 3gun rifle and like the Timney better. When my JARD fails me it’ll get replaced with a Timney as well.

Uncle Sam used to use double stage triggers, just not on the M16 family.
