M4 freebies for North Macedonia

Guess it’s hard to beat that price. For anyone familiar, are the large cardboard crates in the first picture the standard packaging for M4’s?

“The US Ambassador to Macedonia, Kate Byrnes, took part in a presentation ceremony to hand over 1,200 M4 Carbines to the North Macedonian Army. The carbines will be issued to the Macedonian Army’s light infantry element which is preparing for upcoming NATO evaluations at the beginning of 2022. North Macedonia joined NATO in March 2020 becoming the 30th member state.”

Good for them. I liked Skopje quite a bit. I used to drop down there from Kosovo on the weekends. The main square has great food and drinks for super cheap.

I was randomly friended on Facebook by a Macedonian woman about 15 years ago. I don’t know if I ever met her in person, but she’s smoking hot. If the chicks there mostly look like her, it’s a good country.

Give?!? How about they TRADE us for all those G3s and AKs they are putting out of service.

They have some lookers for sure.

And I hope the rifles come with weapon safety handling classes. Never been flagged so much in my life until being around a group of Macedonians in a chow hall.

I dunno about M4’s but most weapons in “mothballs” at Anniston are stored that way. I was there in the late 90s at the CMP facility helping to clean up/sort Garands for sale and that is how they were packed. The lot I worked while I was there had been turned in in 1972, most likely by a Guard unit. It was sad to see them when we opened the cardboard crate- it looked like they had simply lined the troops up in a file and had them walk past the box and throw them in, they were all akimbo…The box had a tag on the front of it where it had been checked by inventory control periodically since the 70’s. I saw boxes of M14’s and M60’s that were the same.
