It’s not a contest. Saying something is too heavy does not indicate a lack of manhood. No matter what kind of shape you’re in, weight is a liability and a tradeoff for other things. Can you carry a given weight? Great. Can you move as fast and as far with that weight as you could with less? No.
The OP was asking about chest rigs. Carrying a given weight in a chest rig is very different than other load-bearing gear. Sticking all of that out in front will affect you much more than the same weight spread all over an armor carrier front and back. Stick both plates and all of your drums on the front of your vest and tell me it’s just as easy.
