My LGS is selling a M1A National Match with the S.S. barrel and the Springfield Scope mount for $1400.
I love, but do not need the gun, at this price point is it a worth investment?
Thanks

New or used?
If new… I see standard M1As going for $1400-1500 so I would say jump on it. If used… Would depend on condition, and the round count, and how it was taken care of, at which point, depending I would pass since looking around online the rifle new is running right around $1800-1900.
It appears to be very gently, if ever used. If it has a round count, I would guess it to be less than 200 rounds.
Make sure it’s a National Match and not a Loaded Model. If it Is a true National Match in great shape with less than 200 rounds and a proper bedding job, it should be worth $1,400. If it’s a used Loaded Model, the price should be negotiable.
On a second look it is a Loaded model with the N/M SS barrel. My Bad.
I’m considering beginning to negotiate with him on the price, I’m thinking 1150 is more realistic,
$1,000 to $1,200 would be fair with at least one 20 round magazine, sling, box, paperwork, etc. I missed a deal on a M1A standard model with 6 magazines, sling, box and paperwork 6 months ago. The rifle allegedly had about 500 rounds fired through it and the seller was asking $1,050.
The last two times I bought a M1A with scope mount from someone, I sold off the scope mount. I think there are better options for a scoped rifle.
