M193 use in the military currently?

All over the internet I hear about guys saying they used M193 in the military during the Post 9/11 timeframe. I personally only ever saw M855, tracer and M262. Does the military still use M193?

I’ve never used it. I’ve only used the same three as you.

Never seen it. Maybe they used it on a top secret mission they can’t really talk about in South America.

Use is more and more limited. I don’t think the Army has bought any in probably ten or fifteen years (except as part of Foreign Military Sales export).

We had a lot of M193 for spin up training in AFSOC up until about 07, but that is all we used it for. I’m now a contract field skills instructor for AFSOC and all of the training ammo we use for our courses is frangible both 9mm and 5.56. Mainly because we’re shooting a lot of steel inside 50 yards.

I used it in OSUT with E Co 2-58 in Ft Benning in 2007, and again with 1-2 INF (USAREUR) in 2008 during our spin-up for OIF 08-10. The stuff in Germany I’m sure was dug out of a hole that some armorer put there in the 80s, it looked like shit.

I never saw it or used it. 04-13

I’ve never even seen it from 08 to present.

Active Duty USAREUR Germany '01-'06 and Iraq APR '03- APR '04 it never existed. M855 and M856 only.

Shot some as a ROTC cadet in the late 90s (97-98), but never saw any when I was on active duty 1999-late 2003.
