I found a COLT M16A1 training rifle marked property of U.S. Govt. it has a serial # of 804005 and the butt-stock is marked TUSA FT. GORDON. This thing has a metal barrel and is about the weight of an M16/AR15.
has anyone else seen these or know anything about them. Date of when they where made.
thanks in advance.

Is it a rubber duck? Does it have a real barrel but the rest is all black rubber?
TUSA- is the acronym for the 3rd U.S Army. It should also read Ft. Gordon (not Gordan) which is the home of the Signal Corps. I assume that this weapon is hardened like rubber with a steel barrel? If so, these are weapons that we used for certain types of training that similated an M16, but wouldn’t get needlessly damaged. Personally I don’t believe that there is anything particularly special or collectible about them. But, who knows?
rubber duckey, you’re the one. you make training so much less fun.
