have been looking for a M14 scope mount that will actually hold zero and was in a gunshop today and saw a M14 w/one mounted that will work. has the two screws on the side, AND a third piece that fits into the dovetail recess in front of the rear sight that the mount also screws into. anyone know where i can get one? THANKS!
correction…it is a two piece mount, not a 3 piece. oops!
I believe that it is this one from Sadlak. I have heard good stuff about them and I have some of their products on my Troy MCS.
Also take a look at the Smith Industries mounts. I have one and it has been great.
Lots of good reviews +1
Sadlak, Smith Ent., and ARMS all have good reputations. My experience with Smith mounts has been consistently excellent.
thanks guys!!

HOPLOETHOS,

SWEET Death Ray
I love the Mauve Rose walled background w/ the swiss coffee piping on the molding, very sensual …![]()
When I had my M1A (pre-divorce) I had the scope mounted with the ARMS 18 mount and ARMS 22 rings, which turned out to be excellent kit.
I’ve also heard good things about the Smith mounts.
Sadlak all the way! Product improved version of the Brookfield mount, rock solid, made in USA and waaay better than ARMS and Smith Enterprises. I got rid of all my Smith Enterprises/ARMS stuff a while ago and never looked back from Sadlak and Larue. ![]()
What about the mount from Bassett Machine? Is it not as solid as one from sadlak?
I haven’t used mine in quite a while. It’s a nice little mount, with some foibles. One is tightening to a consistent ~22 inch pounds. (Bill Bassett once told me about guys who misread the instructions and tried for 22 foot pounds.) Another is getting the right height rings so that the sight sits (more or less) directly over the bore. A third is that the mount provides very little protection for the scope, so you may want to tweak the system if ejected cases tend to pound on the scope body or knobs (e.g., turn the scope 90 degrees counter-clockwise from normal).
And you can forget about using a sight aligner to true the cross hairs.
Finally, it is a two point contact system, so don’t drop the rifle on the scope if you want it to maintain zero. ![]()
(As though you could expect it to retain zero after impact with a three point system.)
All that being said, I like the little mount, and it has always worked for me – better than most mounts I have encountered. I have a very old model (once called the “high” model) and I still keep it around.
I would love to see pictures of this - I never knew they made anything specifically for the M14 series…
Spooky
MK14 Mod 1 w/ La Rue LT 608

It is a non-catalogued item.
No one would know unless your in the know.
I saw one of those mounts and thought my eyes were deceiving me. I didn’t know that it was a LaRue product.
Where was that pic you posted near the water taken?
