So I have been having a problem with my M1A. When I shoot it the action cycles and then it jams. It seems that when it is trying to chamber a new round, the round gets angled down slightly and hits the front of the magazine. I’m 99% sure this is a mag problem. Was wondering if anyone had a cheap solution to fix this? I tried getting a new spring an follower but that was a no go… Wish I had just bought a new mag…
Have you tried any other mags in the rifle? If you don’t have any other mags for your M1A I would start there.
yea I’ve got one mag that seems to work just fine… but my three others all do the same… its really annoying…

Do you know who the manufacture is? There have been many counterfeit “USGI” mags to hit the market. Here is a great resource to help identify the mags you have.
There are fake “GI” magazines with counterfeit markings. It sounds like you have some of these. I recommend Check-Mate Industries M14 magazines. 44Mag.com and Palmetto State Armory are good sources for CMI M14 magazines.
Yea I probably do have some nock-off mags… I got them a long time ago and don’t remember where I got them… I was still kind of new to everything… Guess I should just suck it up and go buy new mags… Oh well… Was hoping to not have to do that cause M14 mags aren’t cheap… If only Magpul made M14 mags…
