M&P Shield Magazines

Looks like 44mag.com has a few 7-round 9mm mags in stock right this instant. Put your name on the list for the 8-rounders. <http://www.44mag.com/category/s?keyword=shield>

We have the 7 and 8rd mags in stock (for less money) AND you would be supporting a forum sponsor.

Grant, Ill buy all the mags you want if you sell me a Shield 9mm :dirol:

Well, day-umm! My apologies, Grant, I didn’t realize you were stocking them. I just ordered a bunch of 8-rounders from ya’. Thanks!

I call dibs on 2nd in line.

No worries. We are a S&W LE Distr. so it is always a good idea to check with us for parts, mags and guns.

Haha, I may have to get in on this also. I have been unable to find one anywhere.

Head over to gunbroker.com; that’s where I got mine. Yep, I paid a premium, but in the long run I’m not going to remember the extra $75.

I have been trying to watch gunbroker but most of them are going for 500 or more, then with shipping and transfer cost it ends up being fairly expensive.

I don’t want one that bad.

I got lucky, my LGS got two in. The first sold within the day. The other sat for three days. I just happened to stop in to show off my baby girl and saw it there…calling to me:D. Be sure to call your local spots.

I have pretty much given up my search for now. I will just wait until they actually start shipping meaningful numbers. My Raven Shield holster is getting pretty damn lonely though.

I got tired of calling everybody on “shipment” days. I am pretty sure the guy at the Academy gun counter started to recognize my voice. Teach them to tell me to call every Mon/Wed/Fri morning since those are the days they get shipments.

Yep, and when you add in half a dozen extra mags, a holster or two, shipping, and all the hoops I have to (pay to) jump through to get a non-rostered one here in California, the cost of the pistol itself starts becoming a much smaller part of the total cost to buy a new pistol! Lemme tell ya’ about the $1,000 Shield I just bought…

I talked to a sales guy at one of the larger lgs. They have a waiting list of over 200. I’m guessing there won’t be any available there for quite a while over the counter.

has anyone found a reliable method of securing the sleeve on the 8-rd mag so it doesn’t slip or move around? I was thinking, hot glue, RTV, or plain old Gorilla glue. any suggestions???

Maybe JB Weld would do.

I’m not looking for anything permanent. I just want it to not move around so much. especially when loading the mag…

For good plastic to plastic adhesion I have used the this Loctite with some success. I bonded a cut-down foregrip with it, which has been rock solid thus far, though not seriously abused. In your application it should work just fine. I wouldn’t try any regular super glue on plastics, or even the two part mix stuff.

You might try Household Goop <http://www.thistothat.com/cgi-bin/glue.cgi?lang=en&this=Plastic&that=Plastic>.

Thanks for the heads up Grant! I’ll be ordering some from you.
