Alright,
So I’m considering getting a M&P9. I’m pretty much a 1911 guy, but I do have a G19 that I also enjoy. A couple years ago, I rented a M&P40 and I really liked it…and I HATE .40. Anyway, if I do get one I plan on getting it “Apexed”. Now the question is, which will give me the most “Glock-like” reset and smooth it out. I’ve heard the M&P trigger can get pretty close to a 1911, but the one I rented was pretty good. I just wasn’t fond of the reset. Would the DCAEK take care of pretty much everything?
I just recently took the plunge and got a full size M&P9. The factory trigger was garbage. I ordered the Apex DCAEK, installed it myself and it has made a HUGE difference. The trigger isn’t as sloppy, the reset is much more distinct, and there is very little (if any) front sight disturbance when the trigger breaks. In my opinion, definitely worth the price.
The Apex DCAEK makes for a great pull. If you install the included return spring, it will make for an even better reset then stock, but that comes at the expense of adding a little pull back in. I skipped the trigger return spring because I liked the trigger pull without it.
And you can always get an Apex RAM. I have one but haven’t installed it yet either.
