Just wondering if it is worth it to buy the moe package vs buying the std and buying the moe parts seperate? I plan to buy an ar tomorrow and noticed they had both versions in stock.
I guess it would depend on how much they want for the MOE rifle huh?
Do the math.
I prefer the moe hand guard and stock over the normal config. If you want those features and the MOE is cheaper than standard+moe parts go for it.
Their site’s down, so I can’t check the price but if you know you want all the MOE gear…go for it. You might find yourself wanting to try a different stock down the road though.
I would bet that getting the standard and buying MOE kit from the EE here would save you some money.
what about the colt 6920 MP MOE ?
the cost is similar… I’m in the same situation but toward the colt…

If your gonna get the MOE gear just get the S&W MOE and save yourself the time of having to order everything and installing it. It will be how you want it out of the box. I bought the S&W M&P 15T and never had an issue with it and it came with all of the Troy gear installed. As I got more serious with AR’s I did end up getting different rail and now different upper but this was due to wanting more rail space and shorter barrel. The option of building an AR is always a good one if you shop around for parts or just call Grant at G&R Tac.
How much of a price difference is it? Depending on what that amount is you may be better getting the MOE gear separately then selling your standard furniture to recoup cost and come out ahead.
Of course as others have said the easiest thing to do is buy it with MOE gear.
This isn’t difficult. Price out the weapon with and without. See what it will cost you to buy the parts, ship them to your house and then put them on.
