Just curious. Either the hammer spring is installed incorrectly or it’s not. It’s failry simple to prove or disprove.
Acceptable? Not if it was done intentionally, however I would say to look for how it was dealt with afterwards.
Sometimes, despite everyone’s best efforts, shit happens. There’s usually a lot of people (ie: opportunities for error) between the shot callers & the box packers and I can EASILY see how something like that could happen.
Just picked up my rifle from the FFL. There is no resolution besides lip service. Even being promised by Joe directly, I got MOEd. The stock is the CTR but the grip, not so MIAD. Iimagine all those unsuspecting buyers who don’t know any better.
Yeah, now I know that it was backwards, but a few months ago I’ve never taken the FCG out before.
Hard for my dumb ass to describe, but let’s just say; the spring’s legs looked funny compared to the pictures on the internet, so I took the spring completely off the hammer and re-positioned it.
Now when I compare things with the hammer forward, the spring’s position looks just like the ones in my other AR’s.
Probably not a major issue though I guess, easy fix.
LWRCI’s decision to run with Magpul MOE stocks and grips was met with immediate criticism on their forum. LWRCI has since remedied that decision and is, or already has, gone back to the CTR and MIAD as demanded by their customers - and rightly so.
Let’s also keep in mind that lemons do get produced by any and all manufacturers, like it or not. I hope that LWRCI sorts out any existing issues that there may be, but it certainly doesn’t warrant an outright bashing session against the company (esp. from those who have no experience dealing with LWRCI in the first place).
If you have a concern/issue and it has gone unresolved, then by all means address it and have it seen to.
I have no grudge, and no dog in the fight. One of my best friends has an LWRC 16" upper that shoots sub-moa groups at 100 yards. He loves it. He did however become a dealer with them and ordered 6 uppers to start. They didn’t return his calls or communicate with him. He eventually canceled his order. His most recent piston purchase was an ADC upper bought from someone on this site.
I don’t think M4C is an Anti-LWRC site, but I do believe there is a reason not everyone is on the LWRC bandwagon.
I thought “discussion” was the point of internet forums. This is nowhere near a bashing session, the moderators would not tolerate it. The OP’s experience is valid and he has the right to state his experience. If others had similar experiences with the same company or have information that would be helpful to someone else about to spend the money on that product, as long as it’s stated professionally, I see no reason to halt the discussion.
Strikes me that this thread meets or exceeds all the requirements of Rule 4 that is so often used to lock or trash other threads.
The OP bought a product, wasn’t happy with it, tried contacting the vendor repeatedly only to get the runaround, and posted here to let others know of the issue.
If Rule 4 is going to be taken at face value, and not used to simply lock and trash any negative feedback for any company, then this thread has to stand. If other posts in the thread surface that are not in compliance with Rule 4, then those posts should be edited or removed and not used as excuses to lock the entire thread.
For the record
- Contact The Manufacturer or Dealer First – Internet forums have a large global audience and unsubstantiated or ill-informed comments will affect the livelihoods of a lot of hard working people in the industry. If you have an issue with a manufacturer or dealer that you would like to resolve, we ask that your first contact them to resolve it.
it’s LWRCI everyone, NOT LWRC !!
let’s give them a test, i sent in an upper on Tuesday this week that after 2,500 rounds it keyholes so badly that at 100 yds there is only 5 bullets out of 20 hit a 24"X 30" target, UPS says it will be in their hands on Tuesday 9, December.
Call Joe on Monday so you can get issues a RTV/repair tag. Once received we can have it repaired within a day or two.
Jesse
IF the above quote is truthful and accurate, i should have my upper back before Christmas…, we’ll see !!
Dave_L : I never said he could not address the issue or should end the discussion by any means :
“If you have a concern/issue and it has gone unresolved, then by all means address it and have it seen to.”
It is how one goes about handling the issue with other people jumping in where it may not be warranted who come in with unqualified, biased, off the cuff statements that turns into a bashing thread.
For e.g. I certainly made my feelings known (as a customer) with regards to the MOE parts being shipped out, LWRCI was receptive to the feedback and made the necessary change back to the CTR/MIAD as stated here. I was not bashing the company other than making an observation and that LWRCI rectified the issue. So they are listening, and they do make right with majority of their customers. Sometimes people may fall through the cracks but it is not condusive to getting the issue resolved if it turns into a hate fest, now is it? Which is something that a discussion can degenerate into.
Exactly.
Hell, everybody knows I do NOT like them at all. Way to much history & Internet forum marketing, plus I see the same individuals pulling the strings. Only Paul Leitner-Wise is gone, but he taught them everything they know. Personally, I do not give a rats a** what they do.
That being said, I will not allow this thread to get out of hand. Nobody is going to be allowed to troll LWRC. That isn’t how M4C operates. Just state your personal experience with them (good or bad), and then move on. Stay polite & professional, do not shill for them, troll them, stay in your lane, and this thread will survive. Otherwise the mods will edit it, discipline those who broke the M4C rules, ETC just like any other M4C thread.
What type of barrel were you running?
Let me add for the record that my experience with LWRC has been largely positive.
I have a LWRC 10.5" that runs like a sewing machine with 2k+ rounds so far. It’s zeroed at 50 yds but at that distance with match ammo I’m shooting .5" from sandbags. My only complaint was several delays in shipping due to them changing manufacturing facilities this year and the whole process being stopped dead for months. I also have a second on order with the same complaint as the first, delays in delivery.
The world can surly live without an AR15 piston platform, but they do improve some issues that some shooters experience.
Hey fellas, borebrush here.
I was fine with staying out of this mess that someone seems intent on spreading around the internet. Thats too be expected. Make one customer unhappy, he’ll tell ten more in small town America. On the net, he’ll tell thousands. Thats his game, I’ll let him play it.
The reason why I joined, unfortunately, was not to discuss ARs, set up, maintenance and employment thereof. No, it cant be a fun thing. I’ve got to come over and handle rumor control. (I do not hold anything against this site, I am just more than busy enough with life itself, that adding one more forum to the list makes it harder to keep track)
This is the comment I’m talking about.
This comment was brought to my attention by an agent I work with. Said agent has contacted the OP via PM and requested that the OP correct his bit of misinformation. From what I understand the OP refused, wanting me to come over and do it myself.
I’ve been reading and heeding the rules here, but this smacks of a vendetta and a lane violation. I KNOW that R6TOR1 does not represent this site.
For the record. I have not, and do not work for LWRC or LWRCI.
foremost, I am a Marine. I served as an 0311 in an Amphibious Raid Company. I am now gainfully employed as a pipe fixer and occassional hitter for the Marine Mafia
I am a fmr Industry professional who used to work for XS Sight Systems, and was involved with the taking on of the CSAT sight project from LWRC and Paul Howe. I was the middle man there.
I own and run a LWRC carbine.
I am a school trained gunsmith and multiply certified armorer. In fact I certify other armorers before they deploy overseas. On the side, I try to help out on the various boards I’m a member of with advice on selection, maintenance, and repair of weapons.
I left XS right after SHOT 08 for a government armorer job. Still I have maintained friendships made at XS, LWRC, CSAT, and other industry professionals.
As for the OP, yes he has abided by rule 4. What the reader needs to understand, is this rifle situation and his banning are two different events. He had a problem gun, when he got it back he sold it without ever shooting it. Instance two, he came back and started a thread asking for advice. He was asking why he should give LWRC another chance. It was fishy from the start, many members there didn’t understand the rationale. He was rude for three pages of replies and advice, which was what he was requesting. Finally I posted, basically told him to chill and offered some advise and he twisted off. He even attacked me in other threads. He was ultimately banned for being a troll. PERIOD.
Here, it’s apparent that his purpose is to spread hate through vitriol, not substance.
Rule 6 he should be more concerned about.
- Trolling – Posting comments with the purpose to start conflicts with members, libel persons or groups, or to disrupt the overall running of the forum will not be allowed.
I am sorry that this is what it comes too. This is a LWRC/LWForums issue that was handled, and how it would be handled on any moderated site. Habitually break the rules and you are gone. He lost that venue, so he came here for a fresh audience. I hate cross forum banter. This is not about LWRC/M4C. That is why I spoke up, to clarify the some things.

if the mods want any verification I’ll give what I can. Stephen Hilliard, DocGKR, and USMC03 know who I am and what I do.
Borebrush,
Out of curiousity do you work at DEAV?
“I have no idea what you are talking about”. ![]()
Were you a cop in a former life? ![]()
No, but I spent a few months in the Holiday Inn Express. ![]()
LMAO…
The one with the HESCO barriers and towers. Heard the room service sucks though, and intermittent A/C. As in, the only cool breeze you feel is when former Team guys walk past. ![]()
I am actually with the other “cool guys” and our set up is pretty decent.
I actually know you from USN, though I didn’t realize that you had gone to the dark side.
Ah, I thought you knew. My old boss is over on the USN too.
