Sleeting here…if it wasn’t I would be up. Be warned, this will turn into a religious debate…
The lunar eclipse or the sleet?
Who am I kidding? Both, right?
I’m sure I’ll be getting up to take a leak around that time. I’ll try to remember to take a little look see out the window.
Thanks for the heads up. (no pun intended)

Everyone knows it’s not an eclipse but actually the spilled blood of Horus on the moon reminding all of the faithful and saved who the TRUE God of the Sky is.
I’m looking forward to seeing this. I have some unruly servers that are scheduled to be chastised around that time, so I’ll wander outside with my pipe and laptop.
It’s supposed to drop below freezing here tonight, a record cold snap.
You glad us texans get a good view today?
Man I hope I have my Nikon figured out.
Was taking shots of the Moon at “half shadow” with Mars in the frame and I swear to all that is holy a jet flew between the two leaving a perfect straight line trail. I was screwing around with my settings trying to figure out how to do night time shooting when I had the opportunity to get the jet itself into frame.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have some interesting shots and not a lot of nothing.
Pretty good view out here. Never seen one before.
Took pic with phone so it’s not great. But at least the people that missed it get a crappy picture.
don’t have proper gear to do a good job
not a nature or bird guy weddings don’t need a lens that long ![]()
Damn cool, watched it from my back patio.
I was gonna ask if anybody else was up and watching but obviously some of you bitchin’ about the new COSMOS series are putting your money where your mouth is.
Clear night here. Not quite to totality yet but taking on a nice red-orange hue. Glad the dog had to take a leak . . . this time.
ETA: Hey, the shadow’s going the wrong way. I missed it! What a maroon. :suicide:
If you missed this one, it’s the first of four over the next two years, the next being October 8th of this year. I think those of us in the eastern US won’t get to see that one in totality.
I’m almost fairly certain it will be raining/overcast in our AO at that time. Let’s hope it isn’t.
set my alarm at 2am, woke up, fell back asleep derp! I saw the last one anyway, pretty kickass. Seen a solar eclipse too. I want to see a comet though!!
Clear the whole night. Haven’t had a chance to dump photos and see what I have.
