An entry level course for AK-47 variant shooters. This class is geared for those who have not had any formal instruction. Topics covered include safety, stance, zeroing for iron sights and optics, sight alignment and trigger control. Familiarization with their AK includes field stripping and maintenance. Other subject matter that is covered includes reloads, presentation, shooting positions, and introduction to different skill drills including dry fire and bullseye shooting.

Class requirements:
Eye & ear protection (electronic hearing protection is strongly recommended) - Must shoot a Kalashnikov variant (Valmets and Galils welcome) – 7.62mm, 5.45mm, 5.56mm
Serviceable sling – tactical type preferred but issue sling is fine
Minimum 1 magazine pouch – or method to carry spare magazine(s)
Minimum of 3 serviceable magazines (5 is better)
400 rounds of ammo – service type - Cold weather gear - former Soviet military surplus encouraged
Good attitude - A minimum of five loaner guns (and magazines) are available

Maximum class size: 14 shooters
A Vickers Shooting Method Certification will be issued for completion of this class.
If anyone attending has more than one AK, I encourage you to bring it. If anyone out there can loan an AK out to someone who wants to take the class - you’ll be helpin a brotha out!
In addition to the gun handling and marksmanship principles of the Vickers Shooting Method, this class will also have some very specific information regarding history, variants, and terminal ballistics. While “the Russian method” of employment may be touched upon, students will learn and apply the Vickers Method.
